Manor (formally Marussia) is coming back to the Formula One racing grid, starting with next weekend’s Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne. A new car will be introduced later on in the season.

Until the new car is ready, Manor F1 will begin the campaign with a provisional car, built to fully comply with the 2015 regulations. It’s basically an updated 2014-spec car, using a Ferrari engine.

The team will retain the services of John Booth as principal, whereas Graeme Lowdon will be president and sporting director. Former Sainsbury’s chief Justin King will take on the role of interim chairman.

Businessman Stephen Fitzpatrick will be the team’s new principal investor, after throwing in £30 million of his own money.

“With formidable new business leadership in Stephen Fitzpatrick and the board presence of Justin King we are now in a great place ahead of the new season. This is a fantastic and very rewarding moment for all those involved with the team” said Lowdon.

Manor’s application to compete in 2015 was formally approved by FIA at the end of last month, when the team also announced Will Stevens as their first driver. So far, his teammate is yet to be revealed.
