The Land Rover Discovery Sport has been designed to look like its posher Range rover siblings, but be noticeably more affordable. This isn’t really apparent from the outside, but the interior just doesn’t look and feel as premium as the rest of the package.

CarBuyer tested the vehicle and praised it for its looks and its practical features. They say there is a lot to like and that the Sport is up there with the class leaders, being better in some ways and worse in others – it has seven seats but can’t match properly premium rivals for perceived quality and luxury.

There’s also just the one (diesel) option available. The 2.2-liter unit is reportedly apt for the job but it’s still audible inside. Oh, and reviewer Matt Watson says to avoid the manual gearbox and just pay extra for the nine-speed self-shifter instead.

One area where this shines above most rivals is its off-road capability demonstrated in an older review.
