Following the introduction of the all-new Corsa OPC, Opel is now offering a warm hatch equipped with a smaller turbocharged petrol engine.

The 1.4-liter engine produces 150PS (148hp) and 220Nm (162lb-ft) of torque, enough to allow the Corsa to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.9 seconds and to hit a top speed of 207 km/h (128 mph). Mated to a six-speed manual transmission, the unit averages 5.9 l/100 km in the combined cycle and emits 136 g/km CO2, thanks in part to the standard Start/Stop technology.

The model basically bridges the gap between the 115PS Corsa 1.0 Turbo and the 207PS Corsa OPC. Priced from €18,130 in Germany (including VAT), the Corsa 1.4 Turbo is available with three- and five-door body styles.

Customers can choose between two different trim levels: the sporty Color Edition and the well-equipped Innovation. There’s also a Turbo Plus Package which enhances the Corsa 1.4 Turbo’s looks with OPC elements.

The Color Edition equipment level features high-gloss black roof and grille as well as a chrome exhaust tailpipe and fog lights with chrome trim. Bi-color titanium 17-inch alloy wheels complete the exterior changes.

Inside, the Color Edition brings aluminum sports pedals and tinted windows in the rear passenger compartment, steering wheel remote controls for the radio and cruise control, among other features.

As for the Innovation trim level, it brings chrome window trim (on the five-door model) and chrome-plated door handles. The interior gets ambient lighting, with other standard features including bi-xenon headlamps with cornering light and LED daytime running lights, automatic low beam lighting with tunnel recognition, a rain sensor for the wiper blades and interior mirror with automatic dimming.

Finally , the Turbo Plus Package (a €800 option for the five-door or €950 for the three-door) brings OPC Line front spoiler and rear spoiler lip, body-colored side sills and OPC Line roof spoiler (for the three-door). The mirror caps and grille are in carbon design, while the interior features an OPC Line sports steering wheel, leather gearshift knob and handbrake lever. Optional Recaro sport seats are also on the menu.
