McLaren continues to tease its upcoming Sports Series model which will compete with the Porsche 911. After showing us photos of the camouflaged car and letting us hear its V8 engine, McLaren has released the first photo of the Sports Series wearing no camo.

The image shows a section of the car’s side including the door in which an aerodynamic element is carved which directs air into a lateral air intake. The car is shown with an orange paint contrasting with black details.

Scheduled to debut at the New York Auto Show next month, the McLaren Sports Series will compete with models like the Porsche 911, Mercedes-AMG GT and Audi R8, among many others.

The car will likely be powered by a mid-mounted V8, possibly a detuned version of the engine found in the 650S. According to McLaren, the Sports Series will be a better daily driver than the 650S, with a more roomier interior and more luggage space. The new model is expected to go on sale in the second quarter of this year.
