Yeeees, that is P@RN! And not car p@rn but genuine people getting it on in the back of a 70s Holden kind of thing. So when you’re done staring at that one particular pic in the gallery, make sure to read about the car too.

For those of us who aren’t exactly in the loop as far as Australian car culture is concerned, it pays to know that there’s a rich history behind the ‘Sandman’ name.

It was originally launched on the HQ Holden back in 1974 both as a panel van and Ute, hoping to increase Holden’s sales in the expanding recreational market. Yeah, we know how you Aussies like to “recreate”.

And how about that blonde surfer-girl with the cool tattoo on her arm? She seems like an Emily or a Charlotte. Maybe Hannah? Is she on Facebook? OK OK, getting seriously sidetracked here.

So it’s the 70’s and it’s ‘Enter Sandman’ for not just the HQ but also the HJ, HX and HZ Holden. We’re not surprised at all this caught on. As Sean Pappitt, Holden‘s Director of Communications says “The reborn Sandman is a statement and reflection of the Australian way of life. Most importantly, it’s about having fun.”

Oh, yes, it certainly is. And you know what else is fun? Building the 2015 Sandman Special Edition out of the award winning VF Commodore SV6 and the mad 6.0 liter V8 SS-V.

It’s available in Ute and Sportwagon form and it still features the recognizable surfing livery and the orange shagpile floor rug which you can get as an accessory – since you know, comfort matters.

Other extras include 20″ gloss black wheels, black fender vents, black grille package, roof racks, Sandman decals, dashboard stitching, sunshades, floor mats and build plate – the last two are only available on the Sportwagon. As for exterior colors, you can choose between Heron White, Phantom Black or Nitrate Silver.

This car right here is probably a parents’ worst nightmare. Imagine having your teenage daughter going on a first date with a guy driving the modern day remix of the original “shag wagon”. You’re definitely going ‘Martin Lawrence & Will Smith in Bad Boys 2’ on that guy as soon as you meet him.

Bottom line, we love Australia, we love the Holden Commodore and we’re definitely looking forward to hearing more about this special edition as it goes on sale starting this June.

It will however cost you an additional AUD 2,950 over the standard SS-V and SV6 models. And as some might say, it’s well worth it, don’t you think? If only to freak out a bunch of parents.
