Pickup trucks and Texas go together like peanut butter and jelly, which is why Ram has unveiled a concept truck called Texas Ranger.

Promoting Ram Trucks’ partnership with the renowned law-enforcement agency and the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, the one-of-a-kind concept truck celebrates the Rangers, with the iconic silver Lone Star Ranger badge featured both inside and out.

The Ram Texas Ranger edition concept truck features unique Texas Ranger badging designed to represent the Mexican five-peso coins from which Ranger badges are tooled.

Minted from 1947 through 1948, the coin was the basis for the first official Texas Ranger star badges. The coin was re-tooled to the star-and-wheel shape worn by today’s Rangers.

The truck also sports large five-pointed milled-aluminum emblems on the front side fenders, while a third badge is placed the concept truck’s tailgate. Furthermore, each of the four polished-aluminum 20-inch wheels gets a milled-aluminum Texas Ranger center cap.

The Texas Ranger edition features a Bright White and Bright Silver Metallic two-tone color scheme that pays homage to the white hats and silver badges that the Texas Rangers always wear.

Inside, the concept truck is full of Ranger design cues alongside the etched Canyon Brown and Tan leather and tooled-metal details that distinguish Ram’s luxurious Laramie Longhorn edition. Among the Texas Ranger cues are four real Mexican five-peso silver coins inlaid within the wooden portions of the door bolsters. Front doors have the “heads” side and rear doors contain the “tails” side of the coin.

Other custom features include a milled-aluminum Texas Ranger instrument panel badge, new center stack, center console, door spears and seat trim bezels with emulated galvanized metal decorative finish, Canyon Brown-stained open-pore walnut wood trim pieces, Texas Ranger console lid badge, Texas Ranger sewn-on and etched leather seat badges and more.

The truck looks pretty much production-ready, which is why Ram says it doesn’t rule out building it at some point.
