It’s always a good idea to go for cheaper versions of budget cars, as the more accessorized models are usually too expensive to justify a purchase in their respective segments.

It’s the same thing with the Citroën C4 Cactus, a budget crossover which represents a pretty good deal as long as the customer refrains from ticking too many options boxes.

WhatCar took the Citroën C4 Cactus for a drive and found it very comfortable most of the time, unlike other recent models from the French brand. The pick of the range in terms of engines is the 1.2-liter PureTech 110 S&S petrol unit, which is significantly cheaper than the e-HDi 92 diesel, as well as more refined.

Sure, there are some issues such as the rear seats, which only fold all at once, or the pop-out rear windows. But these are small sacrifices to make on a budget car, as you will find from the video review posted below.
