If you’re in the market for a 2016 Acura RDX, you may be pleased to know the new headlights and six extra horsepower over the 2015 model will cost just $175 extra.

Acura announced Wednesday the facelifted 2016 RDX crossover will start at $35,270 for a front-drive model. Revealed in February at the Chicago Auto Show, the RDX gains a new 3.5-liter V6 with cylinder deactivation and a 9-speed automatic for a 1 MPG bump in fuel economy (20/29 on FWD, 19/28 for AWD) and a rise in horsepower to 279 with 252 lb.-ft. of torque. The crash structure was also stiffened, according to Acura.

The RDX also got a revised front with new grille and the Jewel Eye LED headlamps that have now reached every Acura model, as well as a modest interior freshening, with the addition of a touchscreen radio also common among Hondas and Acuras these days.

Of more substance is the AcuraWatch package of safety gear that’s now available on the RDX. It includes adaptive cruise control and forward collision and lane departure warnings/prevention. A new Advance trim level includes ventilated front seats, remote engine start, parking sensors and other niceties.
