China’s appetite for long-wheelbase sedans and SUVs is well-known, and the Infiniti Q70L is just one of the many stretched luxury sedans on sale in the world’s largest car market.

In order to raise awareness on the sedan, Infiniti has fitted it with a luxurious interior concept for the Shanghai Auto Show. The Q70L Bespoke Edition has a concept car-inspired interior featuring four luxurious seats wrapped in rich white quilted leather.

Infiniti says the idea behind the Bespoke Edition is to fill the gap between the interiors of its current production cars and those of its concept cars.

Based on the production Q70L, which sports a 5.9-inch (150mm) longer wheelbase, the Q70 Bespoke Concept’s interior focuses on the rear seats and features meticulous craftsmanship and three-dimensional textures, modeled after the detailed interiors of Q80 Inspiration and Q60 Concept – both making their Chinese debut at the show.

All four seats feature plush cushioned quilting, soft Ultrasuede and high-texture saddle leather. The interior also gets tactile quilted leather in the door trim, seats and the headliner, while the leather-wrapped steering wheel, glove compartment, door inserts and armrests are all stitched by hand.

On the outside, changes are limited to a special color named Arctic Aluminum, first seen on Q60 Concept, which Infiniti says it gleams like liquid metal and wraps the body like a metallic skin.

While the automaker didn’t announce it will bring the interior to production, it said the cabin hints at how the artistry of Infiniti’s concept cars can become reality. “Today’s display reinforces Infiniti’s distinctive design language of power and artistry, with the Q70L translating that seamlessly into an interior treatment,” said Roland Krueger, president Infiniti Motor Company.
