KIA’s partnership with the NBA is strong and we’re glad to see players donating whatever cars they might win to charities or people in need of transportation.

Such was the case recently when All-Star MPV Russell Westbrook gave his Sorento to a single mother in need, a gesture that most certainly didn’t go unnoticed.

Now, newly crowned Sixth Man of the Year Louis Williams of the Toronto Raptors had KIA send his Sorento to The Remix Project, which is a Toronto & Chicago-based organization that works to help young people from disadvantaged communities.

NBA stat writer John Schumann snapped this pic of the car just as the league announced Williams as the winner of the award. The car looks nice, and we’re pretty sure that sticker is coming off.

We’re also glad to hear that KIA won’t stop here, as they plan on giving a way a new Sorento to the charity of choice of each of the 5 winners of the NBA’s 2014-15 end of the year awards. Another one of these awards went to Atlanta Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer recently, definitely deserving of the Coach of the Year title, after leading the Hawks to an Eastern Conference best 60-22 record.

As for the current Sixth Man, Lou Williams, he finished the season averaging 15.5 PPG while coming off the bench. He also became the first Raptors’ player to win a non-rookie-of-the-year NBA award and the first Raptor to win any NBA award since 1999.

KIA and the NBA now have three more awards to give out. League MVP, Rookie of the Year and the Most Improved Player awards will see other Sorento SUVs make their way to the corresponding winner’s charity of choice.
