It’s been seven years since Brands Hatch has seen a modern-day Formula 1 car. Luckily for UK fans, Lotus and their E23 Hybrid are about to change that.

The E23 Hybrid will take to the track at the hands of both Romain Grosjean as well as Pastor Maldonado, plus reserve driver Jolyon Palmer. Fans will also get to see the race-winning Lotus 72E, the car that two-time F1 champion Emerson Fittipaldo used race in, which is also one of the best looking F1 cars in history if you ask us.

The venue will be open to the public free of charge, which means that plenty of people will be able to see Lotus demonstrate pitstops, race-starts, side-by-side racing and do some hot laps in road-going models.

This is also a rare opportunity to see a modern F1 car running at Brands Hatch. The last time that happened it was 2008 and Lewis Hamilton was driving his McLaren-Mercedes MP4-23 on the track, during a demonstration at a DTM event.

Hopefully the E23 has a good day at the Kent circuit, especially after having such a good race in Bahrain last week – regardless of Maldonado’s issues.

Romain Grosjean finished P7 and now has 12 points in the Driver’s standings, which is 3 more than his total from last year. Now that’s what we call an improvement!
