Lotus announced some healthy sales results for the 2014-2015 financial year, with a total of 2015 units sold globally, a 55% increase from the 1,296 units they achieved in the 2013-2014 period.

This is the best results Lotus has achieved since the troubled 2008-2009 period with the key markets showing a vital return in interest: Sales in China have increased by 186%, in France by 177%, in Germany by 130% while in Japan, the company’s largest export market, sales went up by 103%. In the UK home market, Lotus has more than doubled its sales to 346 units (+102%) while the US sales have scored a 24% increase as well, despite the fact that the Elise and Exige models are offered for track use only.

Jean-Marc Gales, CEO of Group Lotus, stated: “This positive result is something that we have not witnessed at Lotus for many years. We are meeting both time and budget deadlines. Yet, we appreciate that we still have hard work to do to maintain the progress. Our continued expansion demonstrates the customer confidence in Lotus and that our product development strategy is meeting its objectives, while remaining true to our core pillars of efficiency, light weight, high performance and driving purity in the most desirable packaging.”

The dealership network continues to grow, adding 36 new dealers and bringing the total up to 174 dealers worldwide.
