Since the latest S-Class is already out and the all-new BMW 7 Series is only a few months away, the only other German manufacturer who’s spending even more time developing their luxury limo, is Audi.

According to Auto Bild, the 2017 Audi A8 will feature a new 3.0 liter TDI engine, good for 286 HP and 620 Nm (458 lb-ft) of torque. For those seeking even more of an eco-friendly ride, they’ll get it from the A8 e-tron, a car that we can’t wait to see.

The A8 is also said to have a revised 8-speed transmission and standard all-wheel drive on all models.

Another interesting scoop refers to the W12 engine which is now expected to have a displacement of 6.0 liters instead of 6.3, and produce 585 HP to go with 800 Nm of torque.

The top of the range S8 version will continue to be powered by the same twin-turbo 4.0 liter V8 unit – however it’s power output could go up from 520 HP to 580 HP which is a considerable upgrade.

But perhaps what we’re most excited about is seeing what the all-new Audi A8 is going to look like. If the Prologue concept (pictured below) is any indication, it might actually blow us away, which is big, considering the fact that the leaked 7 Series images didn’t impress all that much.
