When he’s not busy absolutely terrifying opposing defenders in the NBA, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook is also doing good work through his foundation, looking to help others in the community.

Back in February, Russell dominated the NBA’s All-Star game, winning MVP honors and receiving a brand new 2016 KIA Sorento as part of his prize.

Naturally, it’s something he doesn’t personally need, even though he’s known more for his fierce style of play and shall we say, extreme fashion sense, than for the cars he drives. All we know is that he drives a Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 and not much else – but he probably has a few other rides the media doesn’t know about.

As for the 2016 Sorento, Russell gave it away to a very deserving mother of two in Oklahoma City, and seeing her so happy really was probably what made it all worth it for everybody involved with his foundation.

He even went as far as to pay off the insurance bill for the entire year, which was yet another great gesture.

Back in 2009, LeBron James did the same thing, only that time it was a KIA Borrego and he had just won League MVP, not All-Star. The Borrego was also donated in 2008 by Kobe Bryant to the East L.A Boys and Girls Club.
