Even though Top Gear is gone (for now), that doesn’t mean they have to lay down and play dead. Especially not online.
We like these so called “StigCam” videos where we get see what the Stig sees when he’s trying to go as fast as possible around the TG test track.
It’s always the best viewing angle if what you’re trying to do is get a sense of the speed the car is carrying into the corners or the racing lines.
As for the F-Type R, it’s a 550 HP beast, able to get you from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.2 seconds and all the way up to 300 km/h. It’s all thanks to a 5.0 liter supercharged V8 engine which also sounds absolutely delightful.
Of course, the Top Gear test track has seen its share of speedsters and isn’t too impressed with the F-Type R’s specs. We say this because the car managed to set a time of 1 min 21.6 sec, which means that it’s the 40th fastest car the Stig has ever driven on the track.
However, the lap time isn’t bad at all, if we stop to consider that it was only slightly slower than cars such as the Cayman GTS or even the mighty 599 GTB Fiorano.
