This is not a video of a demonstration Lexus LFA drifting in some PR media event. This is a full-on professionally build Lexus LFA drift car for professional driver Yoichi Imamura for this year’s Japan D1GP!

According to reports, the custom Lexus LFA drift machine utilizes a TRD NASCAR V8 power unit mated to a dogbox to put down nearly 1000 hp to the rear wheels. While the numbers are certainly impressive, some purists will argue that it’s downright sacrilegious to gut a $500,000 Japanese supercar and its finely tuned V10 engine to abuse it in a full season of competition drifting.

Apparently, the build utilized a totaled Lexus LFA with flood damage that would have otherwise been scrapped. Regardless of whether you agree this is the right way to treat the most expensive handmade supercar Japan has ever built, you can’t deny that the video below is sick as hell!
