Ford has announced that 2016 Mustang GT models will get standard hood vent turn signals, a heritage cue from the 1967 model. Additionally, the Mustang GT will be available with two new design packages: California Special and Black Accent. The 2016 Mustang EcoBoost Premium will also be available with the Pony Package by year’s end.

The hood vent-integrated turn signals have been long desired by fans and now Ford is offering them as standard on 2016 Mustang GT models. Besides this feature, Ford will offer over-the-top racing stripes direct from the factory. Offered in black or silver, the stripes are available on most color and trim packages.

Furthermore, a painted black roof option is now available for the EcoBoost-equipped Mustang and Mustang GT – a feature last seen on the Boss 302.

When the 2016 Ford Mustang GT and Mustang EcoBoost arrive in dealerships in the third quarter of 2015, customers will be able to choose from several new packages and options. Exclusive to Mustang EcoBoost Premium is the Pony Package, which includes unique 19-inch polished aluminum wheels, tri-bar pony logo on the grille, side stripe and chrome window surround.

Owners of Mustang GT Premium models can order the California Special Package, which brings a series of exterior design enhancements including 19-inch ebony-painted machined aluminum wheels, hood and side stripes, black pedestal spoiler, unique faux gas cap, dark taillamp accents, black-painted mirrors, hood vents, Performance front splitter and a unique grille with tri-bar pony logo.

Interior upgrades include Ebony leather/Miko suede seat inserts with red contrast stitching and embossed logo, unique door panel inserts and premium carpet featuring red contrast stitching and unique aluminum dashboard finish with California Special badge.

The 2016 Mustang GT will also be offered with a Black Accent Package, including special 19-inch black-painted alloy wheels, black decklid spoiler, dark taillamp trim, and 5.0 and pony logos in black.

Finally, the 2016 Ford Mustang GT convertible with manual transmission will be available with the Performance Package. Already offered on the 2015 Mustang fastback, the Performance Package brings increased structural bracing, as well as revised suspension components, brakes, wheels and tires.
