Here’s one drag race we don’t get to actually witness, but which happens to say a lot about both cars that lined up to take each other on.
This is pretty amusing actually, because there’s no way on God’s green earth that EVO X could get anywhere near a P85D in a straight line. Even with 500 HP, all odds are against it unless they cover enough distance during the race.
As the EVO’s transmission gives up on its owner, we can witness the rate at which the Tesla is accelerating compared to a stationary (more or less) object. It’s astonishing what that 691 HP machine can do.
Apparently, the owner of the EVO wants another shot at the P85D after he gets his car sorted out, though we doubt it will be much of a race – and no, this isn’t because an EVO with over 500 HP can’t be really, really fast; after all, it does weigh just 1,675 kg (3,692 lbs).
The reason why we’re fairly certain it wouldn’t stand a chance is because it won’t get off the line as quick as the Tesla, even though the Model S weighs around 400 extra kg (881 lbs).
Still, we’re looking forward to seeing the rematch.
