Two new special editions of Audi’s A8 luxury sedan have been announced for the Japanese market.

The first one is the A8 Sport Edition available on the 310PS (306hp) 3.0-liter V6 TFSI quattro and the 435PS (429hp) 4.0-liter V8 TFSI quattro models, which adds some sporty cosmetic touches. These include Alcantara headliner, matte-titanium 21-inch alloy wheels, standard matrix LED headlamps, and Phantom Black pearl effect exterior color.

Audi said it will offer eight examples of the V6 model priced from 11,990,000 yen or about US$97,700, and 42 units of the V8 at 14,240,000 yen or US$116,000 a pop if you avoid the urge to tick any option boxes.

The other special is the A8 L Chauffeur Edition of which only five cars will be made for Japan at a starting price of 16,280,000 yen (US$132,500). The answer to the obvious question of what makes this version of the long-wheelbase A8 a “Chauffeur” model, is a cooled bar compartment that can hold two bottles and two soda cans or glasses. You also get a Marble gray interior trimmings, 20-inch alloy wheels and the same Phantom Black pearl effect exterior paint as on the Sports models.
