Bugatti’s World Record Breakers Get Together At Nurburgring [w/Video]

Two of the fastest production cars ever built made a notable appearance at the start of the ADAC Zurich 24-hour Nurburgring race last week.

We’re talking about the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport and its drop-top sibling, the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse. The two vehicles led the Parade Lap (formation lap) right before the official launch of one of the toughest endurance races in the world. Too bad the cars didn’t get at it, in an old school dogfight.

More than 200,000 visitors witnessed the sight of the two omnipotent legends parading on the legendary course.

These are the actual cars that broke the speed record a while back. In 2010, the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport reached a top speed of 431.072 km/h (267.91 mph) and The Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse followed in 2013, with a top speed of 408.84 km/h (254.095 mph) – with its roof down – receiving the title of “the fastest production roadster in the world”. But one expects such ballistic performances from an 8.0-litre W16 gouging out a whopping 1,184 BHP and 1500 Nm of torque.

Now, we’re wondering, what will the Chiron bring to the game? Since the Veyron has set an awfully high standard, where does Bugatti go from here?
