Ford has launched the redesigned Mustang Customizer app, which now features improved graphics thanks to a new 3-D rendering system that allows the car to be viewed from nearly every imaginable angle. The app also gains a dealer locator search tool to assist in finding Mustangs similar to those created with the Mustang Customizer.

Available as a free download from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, the redesigned Mustang Customizer allows fans of the pony car to build their dream vehicle in any color imaginable and to fit it with dozens of parts, including wheels, spoilers and body panels.

Custom Mustangs can be stored and displayed in a virtual warehouse, and those who are proud of their creations can share images across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram platforms. Additionally, when a custom Mustang is created on the app or on the website, key aspects of the car (color, trim and engine choice) are input into a dealer inventory database, identifying dealers that have a similar Mustang in stock.

“With more than 5.4 million custom Mustangs built and more than 1.6 million app downloads since 2012, we knew we had to deliver a redesigned experience to complement the redesigned 2015 Mustang. Ford is the only company to offer a unique app like Mustang Customizer and our fans just can’t get enough of it,” said Andrea Zuehlk, Digital Marketing Manager.

Ford also plans to add new features to the Mustang Customizer in the second quarter of 2015, including a video-creation mode and the ability to place a custom Mustang anywhere in the world via Google Street View. Furthermore, a new interactive racing game will launch later this year.
