Looking to spend your hard-earned $1,400,000 and you’re not exactly sure what type of crazy-fast car you should get? Well, here’s a thought.

According to the good people from Hennessey Performance, the Lotus-based Venom GT is the type of car you get when a Bugatti Veyron “seems a little too tame”.

Yeah..sort of how you think about getting a new girlfriend when Adriana Lima seems a little too mediocre? It’s silly to think that way but sure, we get what HPE is trying to say. Besides, you have to market your product somehow, right?

Well, as far as “products” are concerned, this here is one of the fastest you’ll ever see at 1,244 HP and 1,564 Nm (1,155 lb-ft) of peak torque. This thing is so fast, it’s almost impossible to beat even when you’re racing against it in a video game.

The only thing between yourself and total annihilation is a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires which keep you glued to the road as you’re getting closer and closer to the Venom‘s 435.31 km/h (270.49 mph) verified top speed.

Its estimated top speed is actually 447 km/h, or 278 mph – and you don’t need us to tell you how insanely fast that is for a car that weighs just 1,244 kg (2,743 lbs).

As for the $1.4 million price tag, it sounds fair if performance is all you care about. But we’d wager that a Veyron would suit you better as something you’d drive on a daily basis or more frequent than just once per week.
