For those whom 503hp aren’t enough for a coupe the size of Mercedes AMG GT S, then rest assured as the automaker is preparing an even more powerful model.

The new variant will get wheel arch wideners, a beefy wing on the back and different front and rear bumpers. Suspension will be lower and stiffer (educated speculation) and (obviously) lighter too, as is the trend with these top of the pile models.

Power is estimated to be around 550 horses or more, and the car is basically said to be a road-going version of the GT3 racing car. Obviously that’s pure propaganda, and while it could use some components from the racer, the link will probably be more cosmetic than anything else.

It will also probably have a different exhaust – does this one, caught testing around the Nurburgring, sound any different to the regular model?
