Hyundai Gives 2016 Elantra A Value Edition, Minor Equipment Upgrades

The 2016 Hyundai Elantra has been introduced with equipment upgrades and a new Value Edition and reduced price for the Sport model, which loses standard leather and power sunroof.

Additionally, the Limited model now comes with more standard features for the same starting price of the 2015 model.

The 2016 Hyundai Elantra Value Edition provides a $1,000 value savings by offering a series of features at $550 more than an Elantra SE with the Popular Equipment Package.

These features include unique 16-inch alloy wheels, power tilt-and-slide sunroof, leather steering wheel and shift knob, proximity key with push button start, heated front seats, chrome beltline molding and aluminum entrance sills, side mirror turn signals and tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel.

The Hyundai Elantra Limited now comes standard with proximity key with push-button start and dual automatic temperature control, offering a $600 value savings.

No changes were made under the hood, with the Elantra offering two engine choices. SE, Value Edition and Limited trims get a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 145hp and 130lb-ft (176Nm) of torque. The Elantra Sport offers a standard 2.0-liter engine producing 173hp and 154lb-ft (209Nm) of torque. On the Elantra Sport PZEV, the same engine produces 166hp and 148lb-ft (200Nm) of torque.

The Elantra can be equipped with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transaxle with Shiftronic manual control. The 2016 model arrives in dealerships this month with a starting MSRP of $17,250, excluding $825 destination.
