Did you hear rumors about Mercedes-Benz preparing a rival for the Audi TT that could arrive in 2019?

It does make sense, come to think of it, since the luxury carmaker already builds compact front-wheel drive vehicles.

According to a recent report, Mercedes-Benz plans to use the platform of the next-generation A-Class for an entry-level sports coupe to rival Audi’s TT. The model could be available with a range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel units, as well as hybrid variants. If built, there would also be an AMG version, which would likely get a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with up to 400hp mated to a six-speed DCT and a 4Matic all-wheel drive system.

But what about the design? This is the major unknown, but thanks to Photoshop manipulator Theophilus Chin we now have a design proposal to assess. Featuring design cues from current Mercedes-Benz coupes, his vision of an A-Class Coupe looks spot on. Would you have it any other way?
