New Fiat Compact Sedan Confirmed For Istanbul Motor Show On May 21

We knew it was coming, but now we have an exact date for the debut of Fiat’s new compact sedan: May 21 at Turkey’s Istanbul Motor Show.

Fiat chose this show not only because Turkey will be one of the car’s primary markets, but also because it will be produce there at its local joint venture Tofas in Bursa, following an investment of around $1 billion.

The as-of-yet unnamed model that will replace the Linea was Designed by the FCA Style Centre and jointly with Tofas R&D. It is believed to be based on FCA’s ‘Small US Wide’ architecture shared with the Fiat 500L and 500X, and Jeep Renegade models.

According to Fiat, the saloon was will “provide an overwhelming combination of comfort, spaciousness, efficiency and technology. All embellished by sumptuous Italian design, which marries the quality of the engineering project with the proportions of an authentic and vigorous sedan”.

Fiat said that sales in Turkey will kick off in November and continue in over forty countries in the EMEA region that includes Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
