Porsche has announced a special series for the 911 Carrera and Boxster called Black Edition.

The name is pretty suggestive: both cars feature a combination of black body color, black interior and black accents such as the darkened headlights. They also get more standard features, including the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation module, automatically dimming rear-view mirrors, rain sensor, cruise control and Sport Design steering wheel.

The Porsche 911 Carrera Black Edition is based on the entry-level model with a 3.4-liter flat-six engine producing 350PS (345hp).

Offered as coupe and convertible versions with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, the special edition model rides on 20-inch 911 Turbo wheels and features standard LED headlights including the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+). Other standard features are the heated sports seats, Bose Surround Sound System, telephone module and Park Assist with reversing camera.

The Porsche Boxster Black Edition is also based on the entry-level model powered by the 2.7-liter flat-six engine with 265PS (261hp). It features a black soft top and rollover protection bar, 20-inch Carrera Classic wheels and bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS). Standard equipment also includes two-zone air conditioning, heated seats and the Sound Package Plus.

Porsche 911 Carrera and Boxster Black Edition go on sale on May 18 in Germany with prices starting from €95,058 and €59,477, respectively.
