Renault India has released a teaser video announcing the launch of an all-new model on May 20.

The new vehicle is most likely a new entry-level hatchback which will slot in below the Sandero in Renault’s Indian lineup and will also arrive in Europe later on badged as a Dacia.

Codenamed “XBA” and unofficially known as the Kayou, the project is based on the CMF-A platform and will likely be powered by a 3-cylinder 0.8-liter petrol engine with up to 50 hp. The unit will be offered as standard with a five-speed manual gearbox or with an optional semi-automatic transmission.

A possible Dacia version could be built in Morocco and offered in Europe with a starting price of around €5,000 ($5,600).
