Skoda just premiered its Fabia R5 Combi design concept at Worthersee and we literally can’t stop drooling.

As we mentioned not so long ago, the Czechs were preparing an over the top estate version of the Fabia to debut at the 34th GTI Meeting at Worthersee. Now, we’re happy to see it in all its glory for the first time…

Paying homage to its rally pedigree, Skoda’s show car reinterprets their recently launched Fabia R5 rally car in the form of an Estate. Even the eye-catching paintjob, with the “Skoda-racing-green” as a base color, takes you back to the gravel munching Czech vehicle. Not to mention its full-on-racing body kit and those flared wheel arches housing the 18-inch alloys. The rear of the car sports a huge spoiler and encased in the rear bumper there’s a huge exhaust pipe positioned in the center.

Basically, Skoda took a regular Fabia estate and gave it the rally treatment. This overhaul can best be seen on the interior of the show-car, which imitates the real R5 racing brute. Its five-point-harness racing seats keeps the driver tight in place, in case someone decides that going for the show car’s top speed of 248 km/h is a wise thing to do.

A Combi is a machine or appliance with two or more functions. We know looking good is not a function, but going fast certainly is. That’s why the car is powered by a full on rally-prepped 1.6-litre turbocharged engine which sends all its might to all four wheels. We can tell this Estate bodied rally car is heavier than the FIA homologated one, but who cares when you can look cooler than the other side of the pillow.

Oh, and the boot opens as well…
