The Ariel Nomad is arguably one of the most interesting automotive creations we saw this year, coming from a manufacturer known for his utterly mad, fully naked yet road legal track cars.

EVO had a first go in the Nomad, which basically is a jacked-up version of the awesome Atom -a dune buggy with pure-bred genes if you prefer- leaving Henry Catchpole with a big smile on his face.

With a total weight of just 670kg, the Nomad sprints from 0 to 60mph in 3.4 seconds and to 100mph in just 8.7 seconds. Power comes from a 2.4 i-VTEC Honda engine, pumping out 235hp.

This thing just begs for some hooning on a rally stage, don’t you think?
