VW Shows More Of Its Wörthersee GTI 2015 Project

VW has released the first sketches of the Wörthersee GTI 2015 project, a custom Golf GTI built by a team of young apprentices which will debut at the GTI Meeting alongside the Golf GTI Clubsport pre-production study.

Scheduled to be unveiled on May 14 at the Wörthersee meeting, the tuned VW Golf GTI has been designed “in line with the taste of young people on the basis of their own ideas, demonstrating considerable creativity, skill and knowledge,” according to VW’s press release.

“The apprentices opted for an innovative color scheme and realized it with considerable skill and precision – both on the exterior and in the interior of the vehicle,” project manager Holger Schülke said. Most of the attachments were hand-crafted and painted, including the complete body kit.

“In the case of attachments like sills and spoilers, absolute precision and fully matching colors are essential. Everything must harmonize with the body. Our budding specialists solved all these problems highly effectively – by working very accurately,” Schülke added.

No other details about the car have been released yet, but we can see from the design sketches that it features a two-tone paint scheme with special alloy wheels, as well as darkened headlights and taillights. Except these design features (and equipment and styling upgrades inside), it looks pretty much like a production VW Golf GTI.
