Koenigsegg took the One:1 to Japan where it participated at this year’s ‘Sound of Engines’ event, held at the legendary Suzuka circuit.

Driven by factory driver Robert Serwanski, the One:1 appeared on Suzuka for demonstration purposes, giving the opportunity to the spectators to watch one of the rarest hypercars in existence tackling the circuit.

Koenigsegg says that the car was running on the standard aero setup and regular fuel and that the laps were purely for demonstration and not for achieving the best possible time. Despite this, the Swedish company says that the One:1 completed the lap in a 2:17.57, an unofficial time which was sourced by the company’s own data-logging system.

Standard setup or not, this on-board footage clearly demonstrates the savagery of this spectacular machine, especially if you notice how hard it shakes the driver and passenger on every upshift.

Robert Serwanski said after the drive:

“We had to take care of the brakes a little. It was an oversight on our part, but we didn’t put new pads in before shipping the car to Japan and we didn’t bring fresh pads with us. Hard braking was an issue as a result, which will influence the speed at which you approach a corner. While we were carrying an extra person in the car in all of our laps, this wasn’t a big factor. It does affect your steering and braking at the limit, but we were not at the limit today.”
