So, are you interested in owning a Williams-Renault Formula 1 car? Of course you are, who wouldn’t be!

But first, how much would you pay for a Formula 1 car? $1,000,000? $500,000? Well, taking in account this superb Williams FW13B is 25 years old and doesn’t run due to missing ignition components, its sale value is estimated between £90,000 and £120,000.

But who cares? It’s one of those Formula 1 cars which boasts a V10 engine and that makes up for it. In fact, its 3.5-litre V10 power-plant was penned under the leadership of Williams co-founder and engineering director, Patrick head. What more do you want?

The car will go under the hammer at the Goodwood Festival of Speed Sale and, according to Bonhams, the car is offered direct from the Williams Grand Prix Reserve Collection.

Furthermore, this single-seater has seen some action at the hands of Thierry Boutsen and Riccardo Patrese, being raced four times in the 1990 season with some podium history.

Bohnams even tells a – somewhat – funny story about the car: “At Interlagos, Brazil, Bousten qualified the automobile on the 3’rd place of the starting grid”. Wait, it gets better… “In the race, his aggressive driving style pressed Senna’s McLaren until the 30th lap – when Boutsen decided to pit, he locked the brakes over a bump entering the pit lane and slid into Williams mechanic Richard Ford and then struck one of his own waiting fresh wheels”.

Isn’t that funny? No? Well, the mechanic escaped unharmed but “the car needed a new nose, which forced Bousten to finish 5th in a race he could have one”. Against Ayrton Senna; in a McLaren Honda.

The car is wrapped in the legendary Williams – Canon livery and even though the engine is not running, it will be supplied with a certificate of authenticity signed by a senior team Williams member. That’s like the best next thing! (we are being ironic).
