These are the first official photos of the 2016 BMW X1 sporting the optional M Sport package.

Aimed at customers who want a more dynamic exterior appearance, the M Sport package will be available shortly after the all-new X1’s market launch in Germany, scheduled for October.

The car in the photos features the Estoril Blue Metallic paint, which will be offered exclusively for X1 models fitted with the M Sport package.

The aero kit gives BMW’s smallest SUV a more aggressive look thanks to the redesigned front bumper with three large air intakes, the rear bumper with a black trim and two side exhaust pipes, as well as the body color-painted side skirts and wheel arch trims.

The M Sport package also sports a revised kidney grille with eight black struts, 18- or 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels and the BMW Individual High Gloss Satin Chrome trim surrounding the windows. The package is completed by the M sports suspension which brings the X1 10mm (0.39in) closer to the ground.

Inside, the M Sport package adds sport seats with Estoril Blue stitching, M leather steering wheel, anthracite roof lining and Estoril Blue accents on the dashboard and door panels. The M logo is featured on the footrest, shift lever and front wings.

In addition to these styling upgrades, the M Sport package includes dual-zone climate control, Park Distance Control (PDC) sensors at the rear, and cruise control with braking function. Depending on the engine version and the associated standard equipment, the M Sport package costs between €4,100 and €5,200 in Germany.
