Ford says it will make “a major Ford Performance news announcement” on Friday via a live-streamed media conference.

The event will take place on Friday at 2 p.m. UK time and will be attended by executive chairman Bill Ford, CEO Mark Fields and vice president Raj Nair. The three top executives will be joined by special guests for an event that will be live-streamed worldwide.

No other information has been shared, but given previous reports and the fact that June 12 is the day before the start of the 2015 Le Mans 24 Hours, Ford may unveil the racing version of the all-new GT supercar.

The Ford GT racing car is expected to feature similar specifications to the road-going model, with power to come from a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine similar to the one in the Riley-Ford Daytona Prototype, the winner of this year’s Daytona 24 Hours. This engine will reportedly be mated to a new Ricardo gearbox which will send power to the rear wheels.
