Though this is a brave new world where engine downsizing has become the new “normal”, we simply can’t ignore the genius of a fire-breathing V8 engine. Which is why they need to live on.
Of course, we’ve heard the Shelby GT350R Mustang‘s exhaust note before, but this right here is a much more accurate representation of what this car can do from a noise perspective.
But let’s not beat around the bush, because we need to call this for what it really is. Simply awesome. Watching that needle pushing past the 8,000 rpm mark is enough to make your knees weak if you spend too much time imagining what that would be like to drive it around a track.
The noise it makes is simply tremendous and we already compared the GT350R to a Maserati Gran Turismo MC Stradale from this particular point of view.
And yeah, this is 100% authentic in case you’re wondering. There’s no sound augmentation, there’s no turbocharger to settle the noise down and so there is definitely no reason why the GT350R shouldn’t become one of the most popular American muscle cars of the decade.
Checking out the video description, we can’t help but agree with the “terrorizing tracks around the country” part. Though , we’d also like to think of it as also turning people’s heads in traffic just because of how great this engine sounds.
