After seeing the new 308 GTi out in the open and hearing Peugeot confirm its debut at next week’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, a leaked brochure provides the first details on the hot hatch’s specs.

According to the booklet that was acquired by our Dutch friends at Autoblog.nl, the new 308 GTi will offer two versions of Peugeot’s 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 250PS (247hp) and 270PS (266hp), both with a peak torque of 330Nm (243 lb-ft). It’s the same mill found on Peugeot’s RCZ R Coupe where it produces 270PS.

The spec sheet says that the 308 GTi tips the scales at 1,205 kg (2,657 pounds) but stops from offering any performance numbers.

We’re not sure yet why the French carmaker is offering two versions of the same engine with only a 20-horsepower difference, but it could be that the more powerful unit is combined with more aggressive styling and chassis tuning.
