After a 10 year intermission, the NSX is back on the streets and it looks cooler than ever.

Sure, the effortless details of the simple, balanced original are gone, while the hunkered-down, bulkier hybrid makes things look harder to swallow and complex, but rest assured, the essence is still there, even though the new model is a full-on supercar.

The original NSX achieved a legendary status through the years (being even affiliated with Senna); so, in order to make sure this new one will live up to expectations, Honda went on a North American tour across the country to see if the automobile is road-worthy in normal-day driving situations and to offer enthusiasts an up close look, in order to record their reactions.

Thanks to these pics found on Reddit, we can see the NSX has similar proportions to a rather mundane R8, while length-wise it doesn’t deviate too far from a 911 – as we would expect from something targeting the German cars in both price range and performance. Still, side by side to the original NSX, the new one looks like a spaceship.

Now all we need to find out is how that twin-turbocharged V6 aided by three electric motors sounds like. Good thing we prepped a video of the thing going up the infamous Pikes Peak hill-climb course. Its baritone roar is a welcomed, pleasant sound in a competition dominated by electric cars.
