BMW’s youthful and cheerful launch film for the all-new 2016 X1 crossover leaves no room for interpretation as to what type of customers the new model targets.

The video features young, active people doing outdoor activities and taking the BMW X1 on all sorts of roads to pursue their hobbies.

As usual, the promotional video is fun to watch but it somehow makes the viewer feel that he or she is leading the wrong type of life (I’m just using the third person here to blend in). It’s kind of similar to watching your friends’ Facebook posts – they always seem to be doing more interesting things than you.

Don’t worry though, that’s exactly what commercials are supposed to make you feel like. If your life doesn’t look at all as happy and fun as in the video, just don’t think that buying a new BMW X1 will change that. Buying a dog may.
