Rumor has it that the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Cruze will be offered as a hatchback as well along the sedan body style. As a matter of fact, Chevrolet has reportedly shown the Cruze hatchback last month at a national dealer meeting in Las Vegas.

Unfortunately, no photos from that meeting have surfaced on the internet so far, but these renderings from Theophilus Chin may be just as good.  Now that the all-new Cruze sedan is no longer a secret, the Photoshop manipulator used two official photos to create a hatchback version.

The result is not surprising at all, but more importantly, it doesn’t look half bad. The question is whether American buyers will warm up to hatchbacks, as those are not among their favorite body styles right now.

Still, carmakers believe hatches will become more popular in the US, with Honda confirming that the next-generation Civic will be available as a hatchback too stateside.
