Just when you thought you’ve seen them all, this just happened in the city of Yiwu, China last Saturday, when a woman left her 3 year old son in her BMW, which then apparently locked itself.

Hey, remember that BMW ‘Pre-Owned’ spot where the mother wouldn’t let her kids get into her X3 because they were dirty from soccer practice and they had to take a cab? Well, it seems like she moved to China.

Seriously though, the woman refused to let firefighters break a window even as the kid was starting to feel worse because of the heat. Instead, she wanted to wait for a locksmith to arrive – according to eyewitness reports.

Luckily, the firefighters didn’t listen to her and broke a back-window, getting the 3 year old some much needed fresh air and probably some water as well.

Of course, people on social media were (rightfully) annoyed by a mother behaving in such a superficial manner, seemingly putting her expensive car’s well-being (seems to be either a 7 Series or a 5 Series GT) over that of her own child.

What we don’t get is…why couldn’t she get back into the car in the first place? Even if the key suddenly stopped working, you can still remove the mechanical bit (key) and open the door the old fashioned way, right?

Or, you can simply instruct your 3 year old kid (even if he is too busy crying) to pull back on the handle and open the door himself, unless he is strapped into a child seat, of course.

Still, it’s no wonder people started to post things like how her car window is “her real son”. That lady needs to get a clue.
