After seeing the Talisman officially, followed by a rendering of a rather doubtful RenaultSport version, it’s time to check out what an Estate version might look like.

Right off the bat, they probably wouldn’t keep the pseudo-trunk lid spoiler look for the Grand Tour, and they’ll probably do completely different designs for the taillights, as they’ve done with the Laguna in previous generations.

Renault have never shied away from designing completely different rear ends to separate sedan from station wagon, and by sedan I mean hatchback, which is what the Laguna actually is.

Speaking of which, the Laguna has been a sales disaster throughout Europe for the past couple of years, though many of those that did end up buying it, went for the Grand Tour version – which to be fair, is a very practical and decent looking car.

So how successful would a car be if it looked anything like this rendering? Well, it would definitely sell better than the Laguna, since you know, this is a new car, has plenty of new tech and a very high-end interior (or so Renault would have us believe).

We’ll do plenty of feeling around the cabin once the Frankfurt Motor Show comes along (September), though if I was VW, Ford or even Opel, I’m not sure I’d be particularly worried.

What do you guys think?
