Mansory is the kind of tuner that has the resources to do outstanding looking things. But sometimes it chooses not to.

There are countless examples to prove my point. Just take a look at the G-Class Sahara, the Aventador Carbonado, or even at the 6×6 Gronos. Don’t these cars look amazingly cool?

And there’s the other end of the spectrum, governed mainly by odd-looking Porsches, like this striking blue Macan.

This is Mansory’s latest offering and although it has a front fascia only a Swiss tuner could love, this vehicle is actually refined and garnished with a plethora of carbon fiber goodies. Expensive carbon fiber goodies.

Revised front bumper with large cooling air intakes, grill, lip, vented hood, flared wheel arches, side skirts, side sills, revised rear bumper, rear diffuser, roof and rear spoiler and various other carbon-fiber bits and pieces complete the carbon-fiber body-kit.

Oh, and it has a stainless-steel exhaust system, which is nicely hidden behind the carbon fiber diffuser – an exotic blend of materials, don’t you think?

The car’s rubber rolls on 22 inch monoblocks and even though it seems that the Macan has a nice stance (I can’t really tell from Mansory’s renderings), the ride height can vary up to 40 mm thanks to an air suspension.

The car might look like a hippo, but it’s actually a versatile performer thanks to the ECU Powerbox and mods carried-out by Mansory. The V6 Diesel S version now pumps out 301 PS (that’s metric horsepower, because it sounds cooler than 296 HP) and an outstanding 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. Mind you, this is nothing compared to the 3.6-litre V6 Turbo variant, which was boosted up to 457 HP and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque.

That’s enough juice to take the gas powered SUV from 0 to 100 km/h (62 Mph) in just 4.5 seconds and then all the way to 274 Km/h (170 Mph). The diesel version doesn’t fall too far behind, with a 5.6 seconds 0 to 100 Km/h sprint and a 260 Km/h (161 Mph)

What more do you want from a 1973 Kg (4351 lbs) SUV brute? Looks, maybe!?
