Matte-Black BMW 7-Series Bimmer Knows How To Attract Attention

The fact that the G11 7 Series is already out, will only do wonders for people looking to purchase a used F01 model, a car which to this day remains absolutely interesting to drive.

The F01 went into production around the same time BMW held its international press launch (Sept. 2008) – where yours truly fell head over heels in love with it. I remember thinking that it kind of looked like a Lexus, but then not caring anymore once I saw how nimble it was in spite of its size, and how stable it was at electronically limited Autobahn speeds.

After its launch, I kept a close eye on the F01’s evolution, and made sure to check out new engines, new technologies (ActiveHybrid 7) and so on. I also remember how at one point, the 7 Series started to look a little more “hip” to me, mainly because the S-Class was already getting old and the new Audi A8 was becoming the “elegant one” in the segment.

That’s when I started seeing the 7 Series for what it kind of, always was. The sporty luxury limo, the one you could buy even if you were under 30 years old (by moral standards).

So yes, imagine my delight every time I come across a really cool looking F01, where you can clearly see that the owner has put in work in order to make the car more appealing to those who prefer their luxury cars a little less subtle and a little more ferocious.

This matte black 7 Series also happens to be riding on glossy black 22″ Vossen CVT wheels – pretty much identical to those being rocked by this Lexus LS 460 F-Sport. However, unlike the Lexus, the Bimmer can actually pull off the 22s, plus, it looks a hell of a lot better.
