You can now make arrangements for the drag racing season as Mopar has begun taking orders for the 2016 Challenger Drag Pak. Fitted for the first time ever with a supercharged 354-cubic-inch Gen III Hemi engine, the new Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak is priced at a hefty $109,354.

However, there’s a cheaper option: the version equipped with a naturally aspirated 426-cubic-inch Gen III Hemi engine starts from $99,426. Those interested in the new drag racer should know that Mopar will only build 60 Challenger Drag Pak vehicles: 35 with the supercharged Gen III Hemi engine and 25 with the naturally aspirated unit.

Mopar announced it is beginning to take orders for the new Drag Pak at the Mopar Block Party in Golden, Colorado, a free fan event held on the eve of the Mopar Mile-High National Hot Rod Association (NHRA Nationals) drag race weekend. Ordering will be available through authorized Dodge dealerships.

“The week of the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals is the perfect occasion to begin taking orders for the new Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO — Mopar Brand Service, Parts and Customer Care, FCA. “Sportsman racers who compete in the NHRA have been winning with our factory-prepped package cars for years. Now, we’re supercharging their ranks by opening orders for the new Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak,” the executive added.
