Nissan Celebrates 10,000 Leafs Sold In The UK

Nissan has reached a major milestone as it confirmed today that 10,000 units of its all-electric Leaf have been sold in the UK market.

Launched in 2011, the Leaf quickly became the electric best-seller of the market and despite the arrival of new EVs on the market, Nissan’s pure electric hatchback still sells like no other in its class.

According to the official figures, the Nissan Leaf holds a 63.3% market share, outselling all other electric vehicles combined by more than two-to-one ratio for the first half of 2015. It’s no wonder then that the UK is currently the number one European market for the Nissan Leaf which sold 2964 units in these six months.

The Nissan Leaf is powered by a 107hp (109PS) electric motor and offers up to 124 miles of range.
