Traveling with your dog can be really fun, as well as heartwarming. Subaru thinks driving an Impreza would make the trip even more worthwhile.

Wait a second, what’s going on here? Is Subaru actively making a stand against the biggest Internet phenomenon ever, cats? Probably not, but they do see themselves as a more “outdoors” type of brand – which is something a lot of dog owners can connect with.

This video is about the “epic story of a man who rewards his faithful, old friend with the weekend trip of a lifetime”.

It’s funny how he actually has a checklist of things to do with the dog, which includes taking him to see his old…um, girlfriend.

If you look close enough you can tell that the list also includes the road trip itself, 100 tennis balls, a ferris wheel, the beach, letting him chew a shoe, a massage, stake dinner, hot air balloon trip, breakfast in bed, river rafting, riding a train and a couple of other ones.

Apparently they also went sky diving, though they “forgot” to show that part.

As for the 4-door Subaru Impreza, it’s a pretty good compact all-rounder, which in the U.S can cost you as little as $18,195.

It comes with a 2.0 liter DOHC engine, good for 148 HP and 196 Nm (145 lb-ft) of torque. It’s not the sportiest thing in the world but…actually there are no buts, it’s a pretty “lazy” engine.

At least the dog is cute.
