This Is A Ford-Based Replica Of James Bond’s Aston Martin Vanquish

This may look like an ordinary Aston Martin Vanquish, but it actually shoots rockets out of its grille.

Just kidding, the rockets and the machine guns sticking out of its hood are fake and so is the car.

According to the dealer that sells it – Cats Exotics – this automobile is a limited edition James Bond 50th anniversary Spy Car. Apparently, only 50 examples were made and this is number 17.

The dealer also states that a group of private collectors came together to create the 007 Spy Cars and that the concept uses a Ford chassis and a Vanquish body in order to accommodate all the bespoke and awesome features it has.

To put it simply, it’s a replica.

It took over 45,000 hours to research and develop and another 2,500 to manufacture. All this just to make it look exactly like the original one used in the movie. And it comes with all the features you can imagine – hidden panels, guns and revolving license plates.

It has an automatic gearbox mated to a supercharged 4.6-litre Ford V8 (no V12, boo!), carbon fiber interior trim a Pioneer infotainment system and push-button ignition. It may look close to the real thing on the outside, but inside, it’s far form an authentic Aston Martin – i.e. the instrument panel and steering appear to be from an early 2000s Ford Mustang.

It costs $199,888, but you do get a framed movie poster personally signed by Pierce Brosnan and a signed plaque of the people who helped build it. Did I mention that the car has only 46 miles since its completion?

I wonder, how many original, real Aston Vanquishes (1st gen) you can buy for that amount of money? The answer is two and a half, if you buy the cheap ones.
