The Colorado wasn’t missing the cool factor from its overall design – with its butch looks and whatnot – but the American car manufacturer decided to emphasize its styling with two special variants.

Called the Midnight Edition and the Trail Boss, the trucks are dressed to impress. No, really, the custom design and accessories are tailored to highlight the model’s personalization options and capabilities, as Tony Johnson – Colorado marketing manager – stated:

“These are aggressive editions of one of the country’s hottest-selling truck, demonstrating the personalization that’s possible with Chevrolet accessories, whether it’s for the street, trail or both. As the Colorado continues to win over new customers, the new Midnight Edition and Z71 Trail Boss give them more choices and build on segment-leading capabilities and efficiency.”

That said, Chevrolet created two distinctive styles to suit distinctive customers in distinctive scenarios. For example, the black Colorado – called the Midnight Edition – evokes the aesthetics of an urban-tuner vehicle. Destined for a more “metropolitan” activity from dusk ‘till dawn, the Midnight Edition comes offered exclusively in black. Additional exterior details, such as the grille, the bowtie emblem and even the 18-inch alloys have been blackened out as well.

Still, I don’t know why somebody would use a truck for the night-life, especially a stock Colorado, but moving on…

This edition is available on LT models with the extended and crew cab bodies, with 2WD or 4WD, and with the 2.5-litre, the 3.6-litre engines and the newly added 2.8-litre Duramax diesel engine.

The blue truck – called the Z71 Trail Boss – is built on the Colorado’s capability in off-road terrain, where the road ends. That’s why, it comes with the Z71 off-road suspension package, aggressive tires and off-road inspired enhancements – which, truth be told, look awesomely cool. It evokes the true spirit of a pick-up – off-road and adventure.

Additional elements include a LED bar mounted on the roof and 17-inch alloys – which sport meaty Goodyear Wrangler DuraTec all-terrain tires for going off-the-trail. It also features a black bowtie emblem (just like the Midnight Edition), a spray-on bedliner, and a set of all-weather floor mats inside the cabin.

The Z71 Trail Boss Edition is available on Z71 models with the extended and crew cab bodies and in 2WD and 4WD. Because you clearly might consider a 2WD truck garnished with off-road accessories. Anyway, the package can be ordered with the same engines mentioned above.

Both trucks will roll into Chevy dealerships this fall, while pricing will soon be announced.
