Since we saw the E63 AMG rendition of the all-new E-Class not that long ago, a regular version was to be expected.

Of course, design-wise, this image is exactly the same as the one with the AMG model, only inverted and missing classic AMG styling cues such as the aggressive spoiler, the sporty grille, the markings and the alloys.

What we have here is a simple design, yet elegant enough so that people probably wouldn’t be offended if this was actually the final product.

Unfortunately, the same differences that I spotted between the previous rendering and the spy shots remain here as well. The real hood is a bit shorter while the headlights don’t stretch out as much (though the difference can be negligible).

Regardless of what this car ends up looking like, we already know that it will be loaded with advanced systems such as the Remote Parking Pilot, Intelligent Drive next Level, Pre-Safe Impulse Side, Multibeam LED, Car-to-X and numerous others.

So even if we won’t be absolutely head over heels for its design, we’ll still be “forced” to appreciate how significant this car will be in the long run for Mercedes-Benz.
